This station has been relocated from the Dill's Hill site to ensure live weather coverage for Muriwai while the AHGPC sources a permanent replacement station for Maukatia/Maori Bay.

Accordingly, the wind rose has been adjusted to reflect the safe wind directions for flying at Maukatia/Maori Bay, while all other site information remains relevant to the Dill's Hill site, not Muriwai.

The ideal wind direction for this site is NE. If the wind is off to the east - southeast, landing can be turbulent.

PG: Be careful of scratching low down amongst the spines if the wind is very cross.

HG: There is a good top landing in the paddock to the left of take-off, however do not go behind the crest on top landing as this can be expensive in aluminium and pride. Although there are a number of possible landing paddocks take care to thoroughly scrutinise these before launching, as some have little streams and gullies running through them.
