An diesem Ort wird sehr früh die Talwindrichtung angezeigt.
Bei Westwind funktionieren die Süd- und Westhänge im Ostrachtal.
Bei Nord/Ostwind kommt der Wind von Oberjoch über den Pass ins Ostrachtal und erzeugt dort einen meist kräfigen Talwind aus Ost.
Wenn der Ostwind einmal eingesetzt hat, bleibt er normalerweise für den Rest des Tages.
